What a Transformation!

I don't mean to sound big headed, but I'm so pleased how this has turned out! It started out life at my office, destined for the skip, and I thought it would be the perfect solution to my A4 card and paper storage conundrum. So I asked on the off chance if I could rescue it and they said yes! Here's how it looked when I got it home:

I decided to spray it pink (of course - what else!) and spent most of Saturday painstakingly sanding it all down and then washing the dust off, then spraying it, an adventure in itself! This is how it looked this morning after I'd put it all back together, see how it matches my craft room wall perfectly ;)

In order to distinguish what was in each drawer, I used my nesties to make some labels and prettied it up a bit with paper flowers. I love it and all for the cost of a bit of spray paint!

A Scrapbook page... sort of!

I havent blogged for a few days so I thought I'd share this scrapbook page which I made just before Xmas and then framed to give to my parents.

Tukka was their cat who sadly was run over last summer and despite having lots of treatment, had to be put to sleep as she wouldn't eat.

She was 10, a shy cat around strangers but despite being the smallest of their animals along with a huge tabby tomcat and a staffie dog, she was definitely the boss! If she wanted a seat, she made the other animals move! She was also known to stare out a human who was sitting in 'her' seat!

Rest in peace Tukka, we all miss you xxx

Another pen magnet

I'm on a roll with these, this time instead of using ribbon I've glued a magnet to the back of the pen.

MSE Keep It Simple challenge

Well I've tried my best but I must admit I found it very difficult and kept wanting to add more things! So I've ended up with a flowery topper I got free from a mag when I first started out, layered onto a few shades of purple, ribbon and some pearls. I know the pearls look a bit odd just plopped onto the flowers, but for some reason there was a weird hole at the top of the die cut , as if you are meant to hang it by a thread? It looked a bit naff just left as a gaping hole so I dotted a pearl on top then of course, you can't just have one so I had to add more. I'm hoping it looks ok though!

Anyone got a Pen?

I don't know about you, but I'm forever losing pens in my house and can never find one when I really need it. As I had some leftover magnets from my peg making session, I thought I could use them to make some sort of fridge-pen holder and this is what I came up with.

I have cut some shapes from nesties and glued one magnet to each side of the circle. The Keyring fob is magnetic, so I have attached a ribbon to this with a pen at the bottom. I am hoping this one won't get lost as the ribbon is so long! It's easy to whip off the magnet when you need it and quick to slap back on too!

Altered Cadburys tin

We had this tin for christmas filled with yummy cadburys biscuits, then after it was empty I was thinking it was about the same size as the largest card I make.

So I altered it to become a tin to put my cards in whenever I need to take them out and about. Its small enough not to be cumbersome but large enough to hold quite a few.

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, I used DCWV Latte cardstock, Basic Grey Euphoria paper, vellum embossed with divine swirls, some chipboard letters and quite a few flowers to give it a nice look. I'm just hoping they dont fall off when I'm shoving it in and out of my handbag!!

One stop Challenge - Something beginning with 'B'

Over at One Stop challenges this week the theme is 'something beginning with B' therefore I have taken this as another opportunity to use my fab dovecraft butterfly punch :) I have kept it quite simple so as not to detract from the butterflies standing out, and used papermania papers, papermania stamp and card candy. Thanks one stop!

Allsorts Challenge Week 33

Here's my entry for this weeks Allsorts blog. This week the challenge was to create a card following a sketch but also either using something Old or New from your stash! I chose to use New - some of my Gemstones cardstock that Santa brought me! I love the pearlescent sheen it has and I've used this for the scalloped circle in the centre, along with flower faries decoupage, My Minds Eye papers, papermania E-line flowers, brads, card candy and some tiny green buttons I found in my stash, thought they were very cute :) Thanks Allsorts!

Charisma Cardz

This week over at Charisma Cardz the theme is Celebrations! I've chosen to make a Birthday card. Image is a papermania stamp coloured with a sakura stardust pen, paper is Basic grey euphoria. Flowers are also papermania, sentiment is from craftwork cards, and other embellishments are from my stash. Thanks for looking!!
