Charisma 42 - Embossing!

Hi all! it's a lovely sunny morning here in staffordshire, no doubt that means its freezing outside though! We've had to give in and put the heating on this week!

This week at Charisma, we want to see your embossing! We are sponsored by the lovely All That Scraps, AND Meljens Designs!

For my card this week I've used this gorgeous new butterflies embossing folder I got recently on a shopping trip with my lovely friend Carly :) I have glittered three of the butterflies to make them stand out.
The poem is a sentiment stamp from Lili of the valley, and I've mounted it on pink mirror card. The pink gems are from stash.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Kiki the kitty

This is a little kitty my mum cross stitched and I mounted it onto a card for her.
The kit was a freebie from a magazine earlier this year!

I've used some paper from the tatty teddy paper pack and the ribbon and dewdrops are from stash. I kept the rest of the card fairly simple as I didnt want to draw attention away from the stitching :)

thanks for visiting :)

An old cross stitch project

Way back when, before I got into blogging or cardmaking, believe it or not I never used to take pics of my finished projects!

This is one I have finally got around to photographing!

It's a cross stitch of the English Rose flower fairy I stitched for my mum as a present when I got married, 6 years ago now, how time flies! I chose this one because I am very pale skinned and when I was little she always used to call me her little English Rose!

So now I finally have taken a pic of it, I thought I'd share. It was a kit I bought by DMC and was quite easy, if I remember rightly it took me a couple of months to complete. There's a lot of backstitch but it really does bring her to life!

AUD Sentiments - a Winter Card

Apologies to the AUD sentiments, team, I completely forgot to blog this on Thursday!
I'm suffering with a cold and generally feeling a bit sorry for myself so I've been sleeping loads and it just slipped my mind TBH! But better late than never hey :)

We are sponsored by Lili of the valley this week and I've used this gorgeous image of children playing in the snow :)

I've coloured the image with promakers and cut it out with Nesties labels and inked aroud the edges with distress ink, I think it was blue corderoy.
The papers are a combination of papermania Honey and hugs christmas and a dovecraft pack I got recently. The ribbon is something I picked up in America and the glittery tree and star are foam stickers I was given by a friend. The greeting is from a papermania clear stamp set.

Thanks for visiting :)

7 October 2011

This makes a great general Mans card. The image is from a stamp set by Tim Holtz, stamped with Antique linen and inked around the edges with Pumice Stone. The paper is from a Forever Friends paper pack with lots of masculine designs in it. I really like the scattered newspaper effect and thought it was a shame the pack only had a couple of sheets of it as I can think of lots of ways to use this paper.

The border punch is by Martha Stewart and the card candy is from craftwork cards, last but not least the greeting is by Personal Imprssions.
Thankyou for your visit :)

Charisma #40 - Black and Orange

Time for another challenge at Charisma! The lovely Denise has chosen Black and Orange as our theme this week!

Our sposors this time around are the fabulous Simon Says Stamp, who have a $20 voucher up for grabs, and Pink Cat Studio, who are offering 5 digis of one lucky winners choice!

Speaking of Pink Cat Studio, that is whose image I decided to use on this halloween plaque I made! I struggle with this time of year as there are so many halloween challenges around but I personally wouldnt send a halloween card and dont have any children to make sweetie bags for so I am generally a bit stumped!

I've coloured this cheeky looking cat with Promarkers, inked around him with scattered straw DI and layered him onto some black card and some patterned papers from a Dovecraft paper pack. I thought my EK success paw print border punch was quite appropriate for this :D I doodled the 'Trick or Treat' very carefully!!
Thanks for stopping by, please leave some love for the other Charisma girlies!

CAS Get Well card

I made this get well card by punching down the edge of a card black (front and back) with a Martha Stewart punch. The daisy stamp is an unbranded one I've had years, coloured with promarkers. The sentiment is from Personal Impressions.

I'm loving quick cards these days as with my college course that I started in September I'm having less and less time to craft!
Thanks for stopping by :)

CAS Embossed Card

Here's a very easy card I made recently!
The entire card front (5x5) is embossed with a cuttlebug folder and then I've just tied some black organza ribbon round it and added a craftwork cards sentiment.
Super quick and super effective!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Gingerloft - Black and Orange

This week at Gingerloft we want to see Black and Orange creations!

I've used the above gingerloft image of some spooky pumpkins, and coloured it with promarkers. The paper is from a Dovecraft pack and the leaves are made with a Martha Stewart punch. I doodled the writing on :)
