Altered key cabinet

This is a cabinet I altered for a christmas present, I couldnt blog the finished article until now but I did tease it a while ago on my blog!

It started off plain wood and I painted it with black acrylic paint and then covered it with a layer of glitter mod podge. The die cut swirls are made with a sizzix die and gold card, and I printed the steampunk heart image out.

I do hope the recipient liked it!

some Smash*ing stuff...

Here are a few more pages from my 'Things I heart' smash* book

Kitty pages! My two are getting their own page so these are just cutesy animal pics

And this one is about my unhealthy obsession with castles :) Anywhere we go if there is a castle to be seen, we will see it by hook or by crook! I have left a spot open at the bottom for a pic of Windsor Castle when we eventually make it there :) it appears I've been to more castles in other countries than in my own lol

more smashing stuff tomorrow!

Cross Stitch Christmas Card

It's christmas eeeeeve!!!! And I'm freezing lol. So I'm sitting with 2 blankets, a nice cup of tea and a hot water bottle, aah :)

This is a card I made with a free kit I got from a cross stitch magazine.

The paper was free in a recent issue of Cardmaking and papercraft and the swirls are made with a sizzix die. The sentiment is from craftwork cards and the ribbon is from stash.

Last minute Xmas Makes..part 1!

This year I've made soooo many Christmas cards I have literally forgotten what it's like to make anything else! I'm so glad that I'm DONE with all my orders for this year and I can concentrate on making stuff just 'because', well until the new year at least! I'm hoping it might remind me what I love about crafting when there's no 'pressure' and I can have time to just play around. I'm hoping to get some more Smashing done over the holidays! Anyway enough ramblimg from me! I've got a lot of pics that need blogging so over the next few days expect to see a lot of pics without much explanation! If you want to know anything about the products I've used then please leave a comment and I'll update the post :) Thanks all and hope you enjoy my pic fest!

I've found LOTV die cuts VERY useful this year! I'd love to have the time/funds to buy the stamps and colour them all myself but at the moment this will have to do for speed and cost effectiveness!

Blog Neglect!

Wow I just checked and I can't believe that last time that I posted was the 24th November!!
We can't have that!
So here's a few christmas cards I've been making whilst I've been AWOL!

This one was made from a Papermania paper stack that came with some die cut squares, all I did was ink the edges, add the ribbon, letters, and gems :) Simples

This one I made using a die cut Decoupage that I got from the NEC recently, I think its made by Craft creations but I'm not in my craftroom right now so don't quote me on that! I'll double check, if I remember! Just added the ribbon, what a sweet nativity scene. It's cards like this that remind me what christmas is all about, it's so easy to get caught up in all the present buying and food eating these days. Last year the BBC had a short drama series on before christmas about the nativity story, I hope that something like this is run again as I really enjoyed it. Anyway enough babbling about that  from me :)

And finally a quickie LOTV die cut card. No idea who the paper is by but the Tree ribbon is from May Arts (US), aint it cool! The holly leaves are MS punch and dotted card candy and the sentiment is craftwork cards.

Promise to try and do my best to be a better blogger! :)
